Class Divide

AD_Education_Quote_2.jpgThe Chatham County Democratic Party is excited to present a monthly series of movies on important issues.  We hope you will be able to join us on Tuesday September 26th for The Class Divide, an episode from the America Divided series, at the Pittsboro Roadhouse.  Entry is free.  The Road House menu will be available if you want to order dinner or a snack.

The Class Divide – the Battle to Fix Inequality in Education:  Jesse Williams journeys to the Gulf Coast town of St. Petersburg, Florida, once known for its beaches and pleasant weather, but now notorious for being the unlikely epicenter of the student achievement gap and school-to- prison pipeline. Williams investigates how resegregation has led to a massive educational and criminal justice divide for the students — and witnesses the community’s efforts to confront the school system and heal the divide.

Education policy advocate Sarah Montgomery will lead a discussion following the movie.

Doors open at 6 PM, screening at 6:30 PM. (approximately 50 minutes)

CCDP supports CORA Food Pantry.  We will be collecting donations of food for CORA at each screening.   Here is a list of most needed items.

Information on viewing these selections at home or having your own group showing is here.
