Out of Reach

AD_Immigration_Quote_1.jpgThe TV series, America Divided premiered on September 30, 2016 in the run-up to the 2016 presidential election. Procduced by  Norman Lear, Shonda Rhimes and Common, and created by Solly Grantastein, Lucian Read and Richard Rowley the series features narratives around inequality in education, housing, healthcare, labor, criminal justice and the political system – all woven into an eight-story, five-part series. The show follows high-profile correspondents as they explore aspects of inequality related to their own biographies.

CCDP is hosting screenings of a number of the episodes.  We invite you to join us for the program and discussion of the issues at the Pittsboro Roadhouse.

“Out of Reach” - The Lives of Undocumented Immigrants, is the first in our movie series.  Emmy®– and Golden Globe®-winning actress America Ferrera travels to Texas, where migrants who have entered the country illegally are the focus of hostility, and where even US-born children are denied basic rights.

Doors open at 6 pm.  The Pittsboro Roadhouse menu will be available if you wish to order dinner or a snack.

CCDP supports CORA Food Pantry.  Please bring donations of food and we will get them to CORA. Here is a list of most needed items.
