It has only been weeks since the Presidential Inauguration but it feels like years. As Stephen Colbert recently said – the presidency is supposed to age the president, not the voters. People across the country are fired up and looking for a way to have impact. Right now standing up, speaking out and keeping the pressure on elected leaders is what we can do.
The opportunity to change who those elected leaders are will come in stages, in 2018 and 2020. While many organizations offer ways to stand up and speak out, only the established political parties have the systems and are ready to field candidates in the coming elections.
After 2016 it is clear the Democratic party needs to evolve and it needs people like you to get involved and be part of making the changes we need.
Join the Chatham County Democratic Party Chair, Jan Nichols, on Saturday, February 18th to find out about the Democratic Party at the county and state level and how your talents, energy, enthusiasm and whatever amount of time you feel comfortable using to be part of a team that will:
- Fight for issues you care
- Ensure strong voter turnout to elect leaders strong on our issues
- Support Democratic candidates
- Influence our elected officials
- Maintain a strong Democratic presence in Chatham County and beyond
- Reach out to potential supporters across the county
- Work with your local precinct
Our job is to win the battle of ideas and elect leaders that embody those ideas and implement policies that reflect our values. Our work is not a race or even a marathon, it is a relay.
We need many team members to accomplish our task.
Please join us on Saturday. Bring a friend.
