Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley, Chair of the National Governors Association appeared on the MSNBC's Rachel Maddow show on March 9, 2012. He spoke eloquently about marriage equality, the nationally coordinated Republican efforts to roll back civil rights for voters, for women, for minorities, for labor and on other fronts in states they now control. His words are inspiring and passionate, yet reasoned, as he sharply defines the dramatic shift to the right by the Republican Party. He clearly defines how Democrats and others who believe in civil rights for all Americans (not just rights for some) can work to restore and build upon the molds of recent progress, which Republicans in charge have work hard to break.

His comments begin approximately 3:50 into the segment until its end at 8:39. (Note the small sliding time bar at the very bottom of the video frame, which can be used to more forward or backward.)
