Long before Mike Roberson took his oath as Sheriff of Chatham County, he knew he wanted to make positive changes in the community. As a Chatham County native, his passion for serving this county runs as deep as his roots here.
"This isn't just where I work. It's my home," says Roberson. "And the people we serve aren't just ordinary residents. They're family, and we want them to feel welcome at our office."
Citizens from all over Chatham County have sent food, flowers, and cards to the Sheriff's Office thanking deputies and showing their support for law enforcement. Local churches have invited deputies to worship services and prayer vigils, children have delivered handmade artwork, and community members have stopped by to share their thanks.
Sheriff Roberson says these acts of kindness have not gone unnoticed or unappreciated by members of his office.
"You've shown your support and gratitude. Now it's our turn," Roberson announced. "We owe everything to our citizens, and this special event is our way of saying thanks to community members for their support."
"This is a time to celebrate our community," says Sheriff Roberson. "Everyone is invited to join us for a fun-filled night of games, food, and fellowship!"
