Keynote Speaker: Senator Jeff Jackson (NC-23)
In his first ten days in the legislature, Senator Jackson co-sponsored a bill to expand Medicaid to cover an additional 500,000 North Carolinians. He publicly condemned the legislature’s GOP majority for submitting their budget proposal just hours prior to the vote and was featured on Rachel Maddow’s MSNBC show for his #JustOneLegislator Twitter campaign. Among other bold progressive actions, Senator Jackson has taken a strong stand against fracking and voted to protect our public education system from enduring further cuts.
Senator Jackson was our keynote speaker for the 2015 Fleet Reddish Dinner.
About Fleet Reddish
During her time as Chair of the Chatham County Democratic Party, Fleet Reddish became very well known to several North Carolina governors starting with Governor Robert “Bob” Scott and was a close personal friend to the first lady, Mrs. Scott. Fleet was known for being warm and welcoming to all Chatham County citizens. She was also a strong defender of Democratic values.
In that same spirit, Democrats come together each year to celebrate our shared values and support our county party at the Fleet Reddish Dinner.
