On May 3, county delegates to the 2nd Congression District and other Democrats will meet in Sanford for the District Convention.  The convention is at the Lee County Courthouse and is from 9AM to 11 AM.  

The 2nd Congressional District, currently represented by Republican Renee Elmers consists of all or part of Alamance, Chatham, Cumberland, Harnett, Hoke, Lee, Moore and Wake Counties.  

Three Democrats are running in the primary for the right to run for this seat representing the Democratic party.
