This election we want to continue the tradition of Chatham having the top voter turnout among North Carolina counties. We need your financial support now to help us elect Democrats up and down the ballot.
Our goal is $30,000 between now and November 3, 2020.
This is the most important election of the decade. The future of our state and nation depends on a Democratic wave. Our fight to overcome voter suppression and misinformation is more challenging than ever. And we must adapt to campaigning during a global pandemic.
CCDP leadership has refocused on the strategies we can use to Get Out the Vote when we cannot gather in person or canvass. These include expanded calling, texting, mailing, and social media plus a new peer-to-peer effort called Activate Your Networks. We are going to put the Blue Ballot and information about candidates and voting in 30,000 Chatham households.
In addition to winning county races, CCDP is focused on increasing our voter turnout by 3% or more. By increasing our turnout in support of the Blue Ballot we increase the vote in all state-wide races. Those races include the Council of State, the Governor, U.S. Senate, the NC Supreme Court, the NC Court of Appeals and, critically, the President and Vice President. North Carolina is one of the six swing states that can give Joe Biden the votes he needs in the Electoral College.
If you prefer to mail us your donation, please use this form and send it to CCDP, PO Box 1118, Pittsboro, NC 27312.
Michelle Colbert commented on 2019 Precinct Meetings 2019-02-08 18:32:37 -0500Hello Mann’s Chaplains!
Our upcoming MCH precinct meeting and election is scheduled for Tuesday, February 26th from 7:00 to 9:00PM at Woods Charter School. I hope to see you there so that we have a WINNING TEAM for 2020- we need YOUR help.
Doors will open at 6:30 for registration and the meeting will be called to order at 7:00 PM.
Please go to the registration tables in the lobby to sign in before proceeding to the Great Room (auditorium) where the meeting will be held. Only registered Democrats can make resolutions and vote in the precinct meeting, so registration is an important first step. If your contact information has changed, please update it during registration.
We’ll have copies of the agenda, resolutions and other materials available in the lobby. In addition to the registration table, other tables will be designated for resolutions and volunteer sign-ups, and we’ll be conducting a precinct-level “straw poll” to see which (potential) presidential candidate(s) MCH Democrats are thinking about supporting in 2020: Whom do YOU want to see on the ticket in 2020? We’ll share the straw poll results during the meeting.
We’ll adjourn the meeting promptly at 9:00PM, because we are in rented space and we’re required to be out of the building so that it can be secured for the night.
PRECINCT ELECTION: We really need some willing Democrats to step up and run for precinct offices, especially for the position of Chair, because I’m unable to run again this term due to my travel schedule. MCH has a great team of reliable volunteers, and I can assure anyone who will consider running for chair that you’ll have lots of support, including mine. MCH made a huge difference in the 2018 elections and we will again in 2020 with YOUR help. Please contact me or Mark Barroso if you’d like to talk about running- we would love to hear from you!
RESOLUTIONS: If you have any resolutions for consideration, please submit them in writing ahead of the meeting. Our available time for the meeting is limited by our rental agreement with the school, so it’s critical to streamline the process as much as possible so that we can give the resolutions the attention they deserve. David Delaney has agreed to be the MCH liaison and contact for resolutions. Here’s a link to the NCDP Resolutions Guide
ADDITIONAL MEETING INFORMATION & DOCUMENTS: please check the CCDP website for additional information about party activities and precinct meeting documents. I’m including a link to the precinct meetings webpage, which has a summary and links for additional precinct meeting documents. It’s been a pleasure and privilege to have served as the MCH chair. I can assure you that our MCH successes over the last term were a team effort, and I thank you all for your past, continued and future support.
SEE YOU ON FEBRUARY 26TH!!!

Each election is important but 2020 is the year we must win up and down the ballot! This is the most important election of our lifetime!.
We have a real opportunity to change leadership in our state legislature, hold the courts and keep our Governor Roy Cooper and elect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Every vote we turn out for Democrats increases the likelihood that we will take back the White House and add a Democratic Senator to Congress.
Perhaps even more importantly, the winning party will be in charge of redistricting following the 2020 census. This will have far reaching impact on elections and policy for the next decade. Your help is vitally important! We can't succeed without you.
Right now we are recruiting for Early Voting Poll Greeters. There are six sites to cover. While many more people are voting by mail, about 60% of the county is still likely to vote early in person or on election day. We have a plan to keep you and the voters safe.
If you want to sign-up for a shift please use our Sign-up Genius page.
Do you have questions about working the polls? Email PollGreeters to get answers.
Volunteers are also making phone calls and texting. Sign up for our newsletter and complete the volunteer form to get updates about opportunities.Become a volunteer
