Shelley Colbert commented on 2019 Precinct Meetings 2019-02-08 18:32:37 -0500Hello Mann’s Chaplains!
Our upcoming MCH precinct meeting and election is scheduled for Tuesday, February 26th from 7:00 to 9:00PM at Woods Charter School. I hope to see you there so that we have a WINNING TEAM for 2020- we need YOUR help.
Doors will open at 6:30 for registration and the meeting will be called to order at 7:00 PM.
Please go to the registration tables in the lobby to sign in before proceeding to the Great Room (auditorium) where the meeting will be held. Only registered Democrats can make resolutions and vote in the precinct meeting, so registration is an important first step. If your contact information has changed, please update it during registration.
We’ll have copies of the agenda, resolutions and other materials available in the lobby. In addition to the registration table, other tables will be designated for resolutions and volunteer sign-ups, and we’ll be conducting a precinct-level “straw poll” to see which (potential) presidential candidate(s) MCH Democrats are thinking about supporting in 2020: Whom do YOU want to see on the ticket in 2020? We’ll share the straw poll results during the meeting.
We’ll adjourn the meeting promptly at 9:00PM, because we are in rented space and we’re required to be out of the building so that it can be secured for the night.
PRECINCT ELECTION: We really need some willing Democrats to step up and run for precinct offices, especially for the position of Chair, because I’m unable to run again this term due to my travel schedule. MCH has a great team of reliable volunteers, and I can assure anyone who will consider running for chair that you’ll have lots of support, including mine. MCH made a huge difference in the 2018 elections and we will again in 2020 with YOUR help. Please contact me or Mark Barroso if you’d like to talk about running- we would love to hear from you!
RESOLUTIONS: If you have any resolutions for consideration, please submit them in writing ahead of the meeting. Our available time for the meeting is limited by our rental agreement with the school, so it’s critical to streamline the process as much as possible so that we can give the resolutions the attention they deserve. David Delaney has agreed to be the MCH liaison and contact for resolutions. Here’s a link to the NCDP Resolutions Guide
ADDITIONAL MEETING INFORMATION & DOCUMENTS: please check the CCDP website for additional information about party activities and precinct meeting documents. I’m including a link to the precinct meetings webpage, which has a summary and links for additional precinct meeting documents. It’s been a pleasure and privilege to have served as the MCH chair. I can assure you that our MCH successes over the last term were a team effort, and I thank you all for your past, continued and future support.
SEE YOU ON FEBRUARY 26TH!!!

Shelley Colbert wants to volunteer 2017-02-03 08:13:52 -0500
Each election is important but in 2018 we have a lot at stake. Our courts, our state constitution and the health of our state. In addition there are many initiatives addressing various campaigns and issues recruiting volunteers. There are many options but when you volunteer for the county party you are working to get voters out to support every Democratic candidate on the ballot, elect all four of our judicial candidates and defeat all six amendments to the state constitution.
We have very specific periods and types of work to be done so it is possible you may volunteer for us and other efforts. Just remember we need to get Chatham voters out and have people at the polls to greet them.Become a volunteer

As you may already know, Chatham County has the distinction of being the most politically active county in N.C. We have produced the largest percentages of voter turnout over the past four election cycles, including mid-term elections. We do this by actively engaging our talented democratic constituency, people like you.
Your donations are critical to this success as they provide the funds that we need for our basic operations as well as campaign expenses. We are good stewards of your investment. Our success in 2017 and 2018 – winning all local races – demonstrates our effectiveness.
Please do your part to help by making a donation.
We welcome and appreciate any donation amount and contribution method you are comfortable with. Your valuable donation will be used to pay for a variety of CCDP expenses, including:
